    We obtained them from the Federal Election Commission website. We used the contribution by individuals data (indiv08.zip) for 2007-7008 that are publicly available here: http://www.fec.gov/finance/disclosure/ftpdet.shtml#a2007_2008 .

    Within the limitations of the data (e.g. different contributor-generated spellings or mis-spellings of company names), we aggregated data for subsidiaries, brands and parent companies under the parent company name.

Reputation Scores

Clear

The Reputation Index tells you where a company ranks relative to its peers in a business category, or relative to all the companies in the Vanno database. Scores in the Reputation Index are calculated using our proprietary methodology for each aspect of reputation that we track. The scores for each aspect of reputation go from 0 to 100, with 100 being the best and 0 the worst possible scores.

We show an overall rank for each company compared to all the companies in our database. You can also see the rank for each company relative to its peers in a business category by selected from the categories in the pull-down box below the rank.

The overall rank makes sense if you feel that every aspect of reputation that we track is equally important to you. If that’s not the case, then we suggest you focus on the particular aspect or aspects that you care most about. That’s easy to do at Vanno, because we provide separate scores for each and every aspect of reputation that we track.
